This good site for tutorials: XML Tutorial - Introduction

I use this: Altova XMLSpy
Here is freeware edition, 2006 xmlspy, it is the one I use, and it is excellent, just excel;lent
Free Download XMLSpy Home Edition - Altova XMLSpy 2006 Home Edition is a FREE entry level XML editor & dev tool.

And this guy is , uh, different, but what a wicked site:

There is also another WPW thread that should be mentioned:

A soft introduction to object oriented programming.

When working with XML technologies, you very soon need to know object oriented programmning, not least the Document Object Model (DOM) the The XMLHttpRequest Object and XML parsers where object oriented programming is very important.
