Default Error Log Files

I pay for a tracker for my websites so I have never checked the log files on my server. Recently I checked the log files for a new website that I had not added the tracker to. In the error folder for every website I checked they had numerous of the same errors listed. Anyone know what they are? Or how I can fix this?

Sun Oct 21 13:35:07 2007] [error] [client IP] File does not exist: /var/www/vhosts/mywebsite.com/httpdocs/robots.txt

Sun Oct 21 13:44:58 2007] [error] [client IP] File does not exist: /var/www/vhosts/mywebsite.com/httpdocs/favicon.ico

[Sat Oct 20 15:34:49 2007] [error] [client IP] File does not exist: /var/www/vhosts/mywebsite.com/httpdocs/mywebpage.html/robots.txt

Thank You

These errors are not something to lose sleep over. They just mean that you do not have a robots.txt file and favicon.ico; i.e. the favorites icon; for your site. To know more about what they are click the links below:

This line is a bit odd, as it indicates you may either have a problem in one of the virtual hosts on your server, or a bad link somewhere. Robots, on their own, won't look for a robots.txt file anywhere on a server except in the root directory, so the only way this request would occur is if you have a link to robots.txt somewhere that is incorrect, or if one of the virtual hosts is configured incorrectly.

I've seen the similar for various wholly non-existent sub-directories and/or files.

In all cases, they have been the result of external links, from various SE indices, having been malformed; for such, there's nothing to be done.
