Correlation matching of images using MATLAB

Hi Everyone,
I am doing a project on matching images using correlation.I am using MATLAB. Can anyone help me on how to go about it, especially on how to apply functions (written in M-files) on an image.

Long time since I used MatLab, so what is the problem?
1. Using correlation analysis in Matlab?
2. What is functions written in M-files. I have not used that?

Isn't it better to use The MathWorks - MATLAB and Simulink for Technical Computing forums / community?
