Default LANSA System and Analytics

I recently started administering a LANSA based site. When I started, I was told that they did not have analytics. They existed, and had been turned on once. The load caused by turning on the Analytics slowed the system to a grinding halt. They therefore have not attempted Analytics since - that was over 3 years ago.

So they have been and are flying blind.

I have recommended adding Google Analytics, as it is free and should not cause any load on their server speed. However, they remain once bitten, twice shy. Is there anyone out there with experience with Analytics with LANSA based web solutions that might be able to give me some advice?

Thanks

How about emailing a few of the vendors and see what they say?

Here is a good thread on analytics where you can find some good vendors.

G Analytics connects to G's site and I noticed a slow down in page loads - so I removed it.

I saw in the bottom status window of FF that it's "connecting to ..." and "waiting for ..." the G Analytics stuff.

If I can read the status, then it's too slow for me. I feel that it should be fast enough that I can't read the status showing up there.

Just include the Analytics Code at the very end of your site. So it is not that important when Analytics Code is loading slow.
