I'm hoping someone here can help me understand what's going on. I was just checking the stats for one of my websites www.aauw-nys.org.
Many of the hits that are showing up in the stats are for what looks like porn pages. These pages are NOT part of our site. I know this is using up a lot of our bandwidth but is it also a security threat? Is there any recourse I can take? Any information would be appreciated. |

What analytics are you using? Is it JavaScript tagging?

jannmirch, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. What you are seeing is a very common form of spam called "log file spam". The adult and pron web sites send fake "hits" to your site in hopes that your site's log files or web stats are open to the public--so that it looks like you're linking to them.
To handle this, look at your web stats or the log files to see if there are a few of the same IP addresses always sending you this traffic--you should be able to block those IPs from visiting your site.
