Default Ajax could kill pageviews

Too much of a good thing, like Ajax technology and its in-page content refreshes, could really drop pageviews for a site. Those who use sell CPM ads should carefully consider Ajax before using it.

Of course it'll reduce pageviews. That's the whole idea... just grab some info instead of loading a whole new page. Advertising based sites shouldn't be doing AJAX for that reason, unless the banners also change when something new is viewed. I'm sure if Google had AJAX results they'd be sure to change the CPC ads based upon those results as well.

Don't Google use AJAX, at least for some stuff, I read somewhere they did, at least for Maps..

Google Using Ajax

Google Web Toolkit (GWT), a Java-based platform for the development of AJAX web applications that work in all mainstream web browsers. Designed to simplify AJAX development, GWT generates consistent, browser-neutral Javascript from simple Java source code.

Yes, for some stuff. It'd be cool to just have the SERPs change instead of a form post if you ask me... that's what AJAX would allow. Tell it to ignore a domain and watch all the others move up to fill in the blank... that'd be fun. :D
