Default Linking Adwords and Google Analytics

Ciao everyone,

Just installed Analytics code on all of our pages, and also linked it with our Adwords account.

However, SEM stats in analytics are not recording any data. No impressions, clicks nothing.

We are definitely getting Adwords traffic (can see it in the adwords control panel), so have I forgot to do something here? Are there additional bits of code that need to be installed?

BTW, everything else works fine from a tracking point of view

Thanks for your help!

A lot of that depends on your definition of "Just". Analytics takes 6 - 24 hours to show data, but the tie-in takes 24 - 72 hours in my experience. We saw no data for about the first week, then it started to filter back in down the line and it's up to the 24 - 72 hours to fill in.

Have patience. As long as you can log into your AdWords account and click the analytics tab to see the correct analytics account it will eventually fill in the information you're wanting.

Brian.

Ah spot on brian, just checked now and data is coming through on our CPC campaigns. Guess I was used to instant data on Statcounter, have to wait a bit with analytics.

Thanks for your response!

Hi there, I am having a similar problem. I have an account which we use at our agency to manage all analytics accounts, have an account that the client can use to log into analytics and view their stats (as a user) and a seperate adwords account which has been imported into our agency's account.

I would like to link the client's analytics or our agency's analytics account to our client's adwords account but when I move to the analytics acount (in our agency's adwords account) and select the radio button for "I already have a Google Analytics account. Please link it to this AdWords account", I am told that there are "0 accounts to link". I have added the adwords accounts as admins in the agency's analytics account so am not sure why I am being told that there are 0 accounts to link in adwords.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Many thanks,

James

Did you give authority from clients account to adwords account mail for checking analytics, It can be admin rights or just users right. If the clients accounts are sharing the rights then you must see analytics from your ppc account.

you have to be careful with how you use your email accounts as logins to gmail services...

that's all i can say because i don't even know how to determine exactly what the problem is with logins...

why can't we simply/just use the logins that seems logically to be able to use?

Login to adwords account, click on analytics tab and share data with analytics. Also allow tracking of URLs, if you don't allow tracking you won't see adwords results in analytics. Once you have done this your analytics will show google(organic) and google(ppc).

i have had this problem before and found the solution is only to sign up for adwords and within adwords activate the google analytics tracking and link the accounts. this method seems to have solved some of the above mentioned problems i was having
