Default Well done WPW

Mike,
well done WPW.

I was only thinking a week or ago that you WPW should have such a forum.

Here's a small piece of research I've done regarding where organic clicks come from:

thrashmangler: A visit means someone clicked on a search result (or it could also be a link) that led them to your page.
A hit means that the visitor reached and, in effect, travelled through several components that made up a page they visited. Almost without exception, web pages comprise a number of these components, which include images and any links to other pages (be they yours or someone else's). Thus, your hit figure will invariably be higher than the visit one and, as such, can be seen as having less significance.
Pages downloaded is a less easily defined term. On the whole, though, it refers to files (often enough PDF ones) that a web visitor reaches by clicking on a link to them on a webpage. One example is a program download or update. Whether this results in a figure that equals the total pages in the file can -- and proably always does -- vary. At the same time, though, I'm not all that sure that any analytics program incorporates reports of this kind.

Very important forum.

You find a lot of rescoures under the heading quality control along the left edge of MultiFinanceIT.

Note the site is mostly aimed at people seeking global financial information, so

1. It is constructed for at least 17 inches screens.

2. You should have letter size set to normal.

3. It is fine on newer LapTops.

4. And the index page loads slowly.

Default Re: Analytics Discussion Forum

Due to an overflow of work (no complaints on that score of course) I have got well behind my reading of this forum, and now find a new forum page that appears to have been here for a couple of years.

One of the websites I look after currently uses Google analytics as its primary stats analyser. The website is an online photo gallery generating between 20,000-40,000 unique visitors a month (which in a country of only 4 million makes us fairly happy). The website uses Gallery2 to deliver the photos to customers and is integrated with ecommerce for online sales.

At the end of each month I have to generate reports to send to our photographer members with their individual vistor statistics. This is a laborious process (about 150 reports and growing) and I have been looking for alternative solutions.

Although Google generates nice pdf, xcel or csv reports, unless I give members access these reports are not dynamic i.e. they cannot delve further into each separate album. I do not want to give them access as obviously I don't want photographers being able to observe each others visitor numbers or even the overall company information.

Currently Analytics allows me to automate a maximum of 12 reports a month, and the rest I have to do manually.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good statistics analysis package that also has an unlimited automated report system, or if they have expeience with Gallery2 of any compatible packages.

I have put feelers out with some freelance coders, but I seem to be getting quoted prices that are that expensive it almost seems as though if they charge me enough I will go away..
