So CMS' and Wordpress can all do SEO automatically?

Strange, but I could give four recent examples of newish CMS based websites from web designers/developers that all claim to have built in SEO into their products.

In each case the client had called us in because - guess what? - the website's weren't ranking for the keywords the client needed to build their business. In each case, without exception, we were able to start delivering relevant search engine traffic within a couple of weeks. This across Google web, local and image search as well as Bing and Yahoo. The major traffic boost is as a result of on page SEO activities. The off-page elements take longer to feed in.

So they weren't using Wordpress as their CMS you're saying...

Yes Wordpress seems to really give a website a good kick-start when it comes to SEO. I installed wordpress on a brand new domain for my daughter a few weeks ago and within less than 3 days all her posts were cached and she was ranking for a few terms too - mind you very un-competitive words but you get my point.

You will see my entire (on-page) description is within the meta description tag.

Also check out farticle.net - view the source of an article and notice that the description is cut-off.

To me, from an SEO perspective, I ask what does the All-In-One-SEO pack really know about SEO when it cuts off descriptions (our beloved Rich Snippet) AND/OR takes a thousand character description from my category description...

But remember the All-In-One-SEO does do us a big favour when it comes to SEO that's for sure...

And how much does the meta description really help your ranking?

I couldn't agree more. But in each case, each of these web design agencies is still advertising SEO.

I've seen people around here selling SEO and don't even know how link juice flows.

I'm not interested in taking part in a losing battle...I've seen wordpress posts rank in search in less than two minutes...BUT I will add that I don't believe it's 'only' because of the 'SEO' capabilities packed within it - plugged or not - Google seems to like wordpress blog posts...

Pick a topic and less buy two domain names.

Well I'm more worried about tightening things up rather than my rankings with respect to this aspect of the pack...

In the slide I read that "wordpress is a great choice"...in reference to doing better in Google...

1. If a pupil can outrank his professor on the subject the professor produced by simply using WP and the all in one SEO pack.
2. I don't talk about exceptions where the pupil makes the content more user friendly and readable so he outvotes / outcompetes his professor on the SERP's.
3. It was may fingers that produced the above words based on electrical impulses from my brain.
