Are Page Impressions Stats Live Data?

Are the stats for page impressions live or near live within 30 minutes or so? I have a pretty well visited site bur some days page impressions dont show up at all till mid morn uk, for example there are 3 page impressions showing for today, same about 4 hours ago- Yet more than that have registered as users never mind just browsed the search part of the site which the vast majority do.
I realise that I can't click on any of the ads myself which I have specifically refrained from doing, but I take it when visiting the site from my own ip adress the impressions would show up in the figures still? or are they disregarded.

Also I read on a post about not having 2 sets of ads on the same page I have 2 sky scraper ads one narrow one wide on left and right on one of the search pages,I thought they may be served with different ads, Can I be penalised/barred for this.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Nope, they are not real-time and the frequency of updates varies widely. Also bear in mind that impressions, clicks and revenue do not neccessarily update in unison.

Sometimes stats on my account have taken up to 24 hours to update, and even once the days stats are presented, they can change slightly in the following days.

Yes you can be penalized for showing multiple ad units, even though the stated Google policy *currently* isn't perfectly clear on this.

Multiple ad units may be displayed on each Web site page, but no ad unit shall contain any advertisement in common with any other ad unit.

I contacted Google about this, and they stated that the wording was such for future changes to the program/software which might allow for multiple ad units with no repetition of ads, but that currently using multiple ad units on the same page would not be within the rules (since ads would be repeated).

And, yes, your own viewing of the ads at your site will count towards the impressions total.
