I have heard from a lot of people that they will guranteed bring 1000+ vistors for your site that too in a short period of time.

is it posssible to do this with white hat SEO techniques?

No its not possible to bring 1000+ visitors with white hat SEO within short time period unless your website is really quality website, Most of them will generate fake traffic on your websites with keywords like Google.com some will either run ppc for your website or they will put your ads on certain websites on which ads are rotating continuously.

Yes you are right ...getting instant traffic is possible but instant means atleast one month of time is required to get such huge traffic

That was not an issue at all and I definitely did not need to follow any black hat crap techniques or so ever.

What the majority of site owners don't get is, that traffic is not everything.

There are two traffic categories:

a. Just traffic;
b. Qualified traffic.

Just traffic is getting people to come to your site, and qualified traffic is to get traffic that will convert.

And now my question:

Would you prefer getting 1000 visitors per day and zero sales, or would you rather have 1 visitor and 1 sale per day?

Primarily my social media groups, my twitter / identi and friendfeed, my site and forums newsletter, my RSS feeds, polls & surveys, social bookmarks, etc.

I don't think it's possible using some legal SEO techniques. If we speak about some black hat methods, then it's possible, but again it's going to be risky.

Are you trying to tell here that I use black hat techniques? If that is the case, I would advise you to be very careful.
