The look of wordpress is only limited by the person doing the designing.

Indeed. I just spent a few hours stripping the default theme down to almost nothing. Actually very easy and now this blog hardly resembles a blog (except the client has all the usual posting functionality).

Thumbs up Give Concrete5 a try.

In my opinion, Wordpress, Drupal and Joomla are too bloated and confusing for the end user to edit. My clients love Concrete5, which uses simple in-context editing and point/click/drag all wrapped up in a shiny interface. It's easy for developers to extend and easier for users to work with. Try it at bit.ly/concrete5cms if you find yourself spending large amounts of time training and supporting your clients on one of the bigger systems.

Wordpress is your best bet... we just used it for a publisher here in town. http://www.bonvivantsavant.com . With the use of plug ins, and a little custom coding we got what we wanted, and it's super easy to keep up.

Joomla, hands down, as it has a great support forum, thousands of amazing free extentions, and it's just plain fun. Really, if I can do it, anyone can do it. ONE important caveat; you have to have a host that will "play" Joomla. I had to wait for 2 years to finally be able to move our entire catalog of sites - and it's been worth the wait. That said, I should have run all the way to Joomla immediately! I recommend JoomlaShack templates, start with their free templates, and play around until you see what's what. Then, suddenly, it's like you're found the window, and the light is streaming in! Questions? They have a great forum, too! Best of luck!

I think you should consider both joomla and wordpress. Try both of them out, see what you like.

You said yourself that you find Wordpress too have to much of a blog look, in that case joomla probably does the trick for you.

Joomla, and all the features you want you can found it at it's extensions directory. Eveyone and each one of them are in there.
