Google Biased Towards Adword clients ?

I have observed for some time that few sites which are coming in top 10 have a big adword budget also I think it can't be a coincident that those using adword are appearing in top 10. I have also seem few of them having spam techniques in their pages but were not penalized ... as it because they were Google's value customers ? I need opinion of you guys please feel free to share your views on this.

well, if this helps any - I have an adwords ad...I used to be in the top 10 for many of my keywords....but recently, maybe from the Brandy update, I am no longer even in the top 30....

not sure if this contradicts your thoughts or not..? I would wonder that myself, but it doesnt seem to hold true in my case.

The important part of it is how many clicks you get from your adword campaign. If you are getting strong response than you will be seen valuable from Google's point of viewed as a customer and relevant to the keywords.

    Adword bias

I would say so. Perhaps other members can suggest other reasons, but a client decided to drop their adwords campaign (a very small budget campaign) just to see if it made any difference to sales. Almost immediately, from having a top ten presence for months, you couldn't find them on the first ten pages.

I clapped my hands and the phone rung. Did clapping my hands make the phone ring? (obviously not, something else made the phone ring)

I started/stopped using Adwords and my sites ranking increased/decreased. Did using Adwords affect rankings? (no, something else affected the rankings)

I have seen just as many reports of sites going up and down when they started or stopped using Adwords - look for other reasons.

    What is the URL?

    Adwords bias?

Totally get your point, which is why I said that other members could perhaps shed some light, but given the nature/content of the site, I thought it an amazing coincidence.

    I think you are wrong

    Dear daxesh,
Google is not biased because the ad words is totally different from their spiders. Just think over this that if their spider would be merged with the Ad Words then it would not be able to add any other site in the first two pages (google has millions of advertisers.) and secondly there is a colkumn on th eright for sponsered links. How could you forget that. Plus I am telling you by my own experience. Search for Revolt of 1857 and you'll find my page (Beta-Theta) at 5 or 6 position. I havent paid them a bit. The google spider increases the position of a site for results based on hundreds of factors few of them are :-
No. of times in the past that the link has been clicked for the particular keyword.
No. of pages linking to the site with that keyword.
Google Page Rank and much more

This is evident from this link
    http://www.tracegenetics.com/

This page is currently showing up in and Adsense Ad. And its page rank is only 4. When I searched for genetics in GOogle this page doesnt show up in the first 4 pages . Hows that .

And page rank is the ultimate thing to decide your position in Google searches

    Hi sparshpolly,
Everybody knows that spider and adwords are diffrent, but here I have come across few incidents which make me feel there has to be some connection. Also this bias is only for those big budget advertisers. And remember that nobody know whats going on inside google we are only speculating so in the end whatever anybody says it's just a speculation.
