Beware Fake Adwords Managers - The Release of Google Professional Search

When I worked with a company a year or so ago I became Adwords certified. Now I haven't stayed up on my Adwords knowledge and if I claimed to be able to be Adwords certified I would definitely have to re-prove it again but this application is really good!

As it stands if you hear of this service and are seeking Google advertising professionals you can use this tool to find a firm in your area.

I know a lot of people are going to say "there goes Google, giving the market share to the rich, the ones who can afford to get Adwords certified" but everything starts off a little expensive and from what I remember it didn't cost over $400.00 a year ago so.

I think it's great and I think I'm going to go for a re-test or touch up cause I definitely want to be found on that list.

...which reminds me of this article I received earlier this month regarding an SEO firm being told be the courts to pay back money to their clients after offering those services and not coming through...

SEO (whether PPC or Organic) is becoming more popular and turning into an actual recognized business. If we buy something from Walmart and we aren't satisfied what do they do? They let us return it for a full refund.

Yes you really need to interview the adwords managers these days. I have worked with people who claim to have expert status with google and in the end, really did not know more than me... very frustrating indeed

and those arbitrage players have a higher level of PPC knowledge than the GA Professionals.

I passed on my 5th exam but still got so frustrated when facing quality score matters.

I thought the GAP examn was more like 50-75 $ ?

It is nice to finaly have an official list. ( for the US )

For the Netherlands and Belgium we have to do with a volunteer who searches the web for GAPs and Fake Gaps. Don't know how it is in the other countries but in the netherlands 10- 15 % of the ones who claim to be a GAP do not show a proper working link to their professsional page at Google. Look at whoisagap.nl ( at the bottom is shows the fakers !)

Yeah just proves that the "virtual world" is just as full as "bad people" as the real world.. heck, where do you think these people come from anyway. We hear from clients all the time that they prepaid someone 1,000's of dollars to help their ad efforts and only to hear they did nothing.

It's sad that so many tend to be a "gangster" rather than an honest living.

Ethics. It's all about ethics. It seems that a time will come when so-called Adwords experts will realize the danger of claiming such things. It make our work less valuable. It's rather brutal to be honest with you.

It's hard enough selling SEO and web design (being a one man army) for decent prices especially when there is little respect for the industry.

I'd almost akin them types to spammers. No?

How did you get the NL GAP list? Did you contact Google or manually search bys?

I understood it is manual with help form voluteers from Google Webmaster Help Group NL, Google doesn't supply any data.
