I was wondering if anyone knew if it is better to link to an index.html page or to link to the same page with out the /index.html. Does anyone know of any advantages/disadvantages of linking one way over the other?

There's no difference betweeen these two urls.
Just use every time the same address which will help to cumulate PR on one address - that's the most important.
http://www.twojecentrum.pl - Polish e-shopping center
http://dzwonki-loga.pl - Ringtones for mobile phones
Try to use the same url. I would go for the standard url(the domain name) as that is what most people linking to your site will use(that is very important) thats my two cents...Originally Posted by adore
I suggest that you settle on one and stick with it for the long haul, never use both, because many sites will be listed and have a DIFFERENT PR for the www.widget.com/index.html and the www.widget.com
I recommend that you use the www.widget.com because that will always remain static/the same. index.html can change however to index.php, index.cfm, index.phtml, default.html etc. But reguardless of the name of the index page which is used, the domain url will always keep the PR.
