This is really more of a statement rather then a question for a forum?

Where is the advice or question.

Good link building can be achieved through natural link baiting, article writing, press releases, blogs, social networking, building new pages, building profiles, forums, etc.

The list goes on and on....

Link Building is the process of increasing backlinks and traffic of your site. Link Building is the time consuming process. But it is very important one. We can build links by the following ways:

    • Do Social Bookmarking
    • Submit in quality directories
    • Participate actively in Forum Threads
    • Write a guest post and place links in that article for your site
    • Comment on other related blogs
    • Do press release
    • Write some quality articles about your services/products and submit in article directories
    • Provide answers via some 'Answers' type sites such as Yahoo answers

Is finding a blog and putting your keyword in the name as anchor text linking back to your site considered "comment spam". I do this, but always try to add a meaningful related comment...

Link: Link Building is the +"time consuming process" - Google Search

59 000 results that all contain "link building" AND "time consuming process". Either folks aren't searching for answers, or they're not reading/following them (or worst of all, all 59 000 occurrences thus far are all crap).

My other conclusion is that 59 000 people can't be all that wrong when they say it is a lot of work. Maybe all the posting in forums is another way folks are getting around the hard work? "I'll keep looking for an easier way while the real job remains undone. These forum posts are bound to stack up!" (Apologies for the sarcasm. I just can't help it in these good-better-best threads.)

Really, though. The actual back links that have any real value are going to be the result of continual diligence and full scale marketing is the way to really get your domain URL known. Spend time getting your word out offline, as well as online.

Most of the above suggestions can be applied in the world of print advertising and journalism. Guest articles with text only urls are still picked up if the weekly has an online edition with PDF or other web friendly format. Write about what you know and submit it to the Editor or your local or regional paper. If the editorial staff like it, it stands a very good chance of publication. Once published, it can be picked up by other weeklies, journals, etc. We get the idea.

Yes, technically this is not only spam, but also black hat. When you do anything for the primary purpose of getting a backlink to impact your placement in the SERPs, it's spam and unethical.

Frankly, a one or two line comment is very unlikely to be of any value. It might be related, but I doubt it's meaningful. Two lines are very unlikely to deliver new information or a fresh way of seeing things. For the most part, the one or two line comments in the forums are a waste of space and an indication that the poster is just posting for backlinks.

Of course, there are exceptions, but I rarely see one.

It was removed because starting a thread that takes the members away from the forum is not good forum etiquette.

If it were a Matt Cutts post of significance or some analysis of news that is not yours, that's different. But posting a link to your own article to start a thread is considered self promotion. Spam, actually.

If you have something to offer, please do it in full without self promoting links. Or without quoting your article title to try and draw traffic.

    Thanks!
