Google Real Time Search May Have Serious Spamming Consequences
I would rather not do this but this time I am simply going to place a link to a blog post I found about the huge possibility of spamming the Google real time search results - not only are there possible problems with spammers but also child predators.
The page that discusses this topic is located at:
Google Enables Real Time Spam and More
I just want to see what everyone thinks now that we've had almost a week of Google's real time search and we've obviously all have been thinking about it...

Nice find Morestar!
That was a very interesting read. I do believe that the king of the castle will eventually come tumbling down from the top of the hill. It almost always happens. Small companies become giants; they get cocky; they make enemies; they get taken down. My personal opinion is that it is often best to stay smaller and less conspicuous. Give the public a good product at a fair value; make friends; and stay in business indefinitely. In other words; fly under the radar and live another day!
I believe this is another notch taken out of Googles trustworthyness or credibility factor. I picture a tall tree with beavers chewing away at the base.

Remember though...Google has billions - literally - it'll take some time for Goliath to be smitten by the little David if indeed Google is Goliath...I have my doubts.
Remember they got popular via word of mouth not through any sort of mobster mentality or bullying like some companies we know did.
Will they resolve this spam issue especially with respect to the safety of children as we know it's probably going to become a much bigger issue over the next few weeks and months...
I can't deny it though - I don't want to become a giant hosting or design company but if I did and the money I earned allowed me to offer thousands of more services that I did the year before I certainly wouldn't want to be hated for it.

yes - that is a nice find. I think real time search will have some maturing to do - but I do think it will improve the SERPS and relative information

I hear you. It is just that humans are fickle. When we place someone on a pedestal, we expect them never to falter. Google was placed on a pedestal (of sorts) by those who spread the word. As Google grew and more people hoisted the pedestal up onto their shoulders, Googles position (although higher, and in the eyes of the people, mightier) became more precarious. The higher heights we achieve, the harder we fall when the time comes. Even the great Oak tree falls eventually.
Again, people are fickle... there are many who become envious of those who achieve success. They hate those who are better than themselves because they don't believe they could ever achieve the same success. It is sad, but that is the way it is. Even if you did great things with the money you made, there are a few people that will STILL hate you because they envy the status and noteriety that you have gained through your good deeds. It is impossible to please everyone. That's why I believe it is best to stay mediocre and not attract too much attention.

I agree with the dangers in the blog. However, isn't that a fundamental flaw of openly accessible information? I mean, that information comes from Twitter and so has been accessible via Twitter since it went live but people aren't writing blogs about the dangers to young people directly via Twitter. Or are they? Should real-time social websites or social media website in general be restricted to over 18s?

Perhaps some have been thinking about it; but, I'm not one of those.
And, I've yet to see any evidence of any "real time" search screens.
Personally, I find the concept wholly lacking in merit, of no value to other than spin meisters. The notion of being force fed garbage is utterly repulsive.

Ya I can't as of yet understand what this is going to do to enhance our search experience...
maybe there's a demographic view that we're not seeing...maybe the highest percentage of searchers on Google are 14 to 28 year old babies who might enjoy reading tweets in their search results about whatever has been tweeted that very moment...

I believe the real-time results are mixed in with organic results (if that is what you mean by "search screens"). Someone actually suggested that the real-time results be seperated from organic results in the same way that sponsored links are clearly defined.
Anyway, I just see Google attempting to move into twitter's space by including it in its results.
I'm sure there are legitimate reasons to find up-to-the-minute news related results, but for the rest of it, what does a day or 2 matter between crawls of a search engine bot? Further to that... if Googlebot is spending all its time keeping up with Tweets, will it have time to reach the rest of the new or revised Internet content?

Here's an example, arrived at by way of Google Trends
copenhagen - Google Search
Scroll about half-way down, and look for the section headed "Latest results for copenhagen Pause."
