I see this as much the same as Google's Sidewiki - tremendous potential for abuse.
I had noticed WPW's poor WOT rating when I joined here, and at the time, Janeth was one of only two commenters (and was the only member I recognized from here that had commented). Both of those two comments were positive, but unfortunately, I find no way to see how many users have rated a site. Some concerted effort to raise the rating is definitely in order. I've already shot my wad last year, so I'm afraid I can't help. Comments, by the way, don't count toward the rating, but they MAY help sway visitors.
As an aside, I just posted the first Sidewiki note on WOT's home page:
Interesting that Web of Trust has no Sidewiki entry as yet. One might be tempted to take advantage and slam them for allowing users to downgrade any site they choose, while the site owner has no way to opt out, but I suppose that using Sidewiki to do so, would be rather ironic, wouldn't it?
I too see no SideWiki.
On the up side, I just gave mywot itself the lowest possible ratings for "Trustworthiness" and "Reliability;" and, added a negative Comment in the "Ethical issues" category.![]()
Assuming you both have the FF WOT add-on, and it's enabled, it will be a small icon an the far left margin of your screen, that you have to click on to enlarge. It shows up at the very bottom left, when there are no comments yet, and at the very upper left, when there are already existing comments. I just checked, and my comment is there.
Alternatively, you can toggle it off and on by clicking on the Sidewiki button on your Google Toolbar.
Nope; not using their FF extension.
Why should SideWiki be dependent on an extension, let alone a site specific one?
