7 Reasons to Stick with Windows XP

My own is to be able to use all those small utility applicatons that help me do what I want without any crashing.

and use DOS Batch files<< when not worth writing a C# program

    What about yours?

Seems the basic consensus is stay with XP if you don't need to upgrade. Too bad end-of-life is so near. Sooner, rather than later, we will all have to make the switch.

The infamous BOSD, (Blue Screen Of Death, when the display shows Blue with an error message) may have been replaced by the BSOD, (Black Screen of Death KSOD, blacK Screen Of Death) in Windows 7

    Some notes about KSOD here

We still run XP on a couple of office machines. They still do what we needed them to do 5 years ago.

The Compaq PC's we use are still reliable, kept current and clean, they can still open a word doc or a spreadsheet and the internet doesn't display any quicker on Vista or Win 7

May be Vista has not got the hype and it has failed user expectation but swtching to windows 7 is worth. It is good.Even I'm using xp but i have recently shifted to windows 7. It is cool and Search engine within it too good. The file browsing and management is outstanding. You have number of smart window client. live mesh and integrated microsoft products in it differentiate from its own versions. Overall experience : Good

Windows XP is really great! It is a user friendly OS so far.

Other OS is not user friendly. We have to study first and read the guide. But XP, you can just ask anyone if your newbies on how to control.

No doubt XP is great but what happens when Microsoft stops the security updates for it?
So no other option except to switch to Win 7.
