directory submissions for your keywords

before webmasters used to submit to hundreds of directory site everyday to help their keywords ranked in search engines, But now are you still using directory to help you ranked your keywords?

I have tried this as an experiment and submit them to directories almost everyday for nearly one year. Some keywords ranks well, but it is useless to those important competitive keywords. In summary, personally I think what directory submissions can do to keywords ranking is much poorer than before.

Nope. Have not submitted to a "small" directory for a year now.

I've totally stopped them. Except the quality ones, the usual directories don't give any SERP support.

I prefer to submit my sites to only few top directories like Yahoo Dir etc. I think submitting to thousands of directories will not bring any good. Few years back, I did submitted one of my sites to many small directories: The result was not impressive and I could not find links from those directories in GWMTs or Yahoo Explorer or in any other place.

We still use directory submission. old tradition never dies. submitting them to top directories will have good impact on the sites, other directories also support this impact.
