Region and country specific SEO targeting

Hi guys,

I have setup a private game lodge website (Sekala Private Game Lodge | Welgevonden Game Reserve | Malaria-Free | Big 5) and we running Google PPC campaigns with a fair budget. The lodge is based in South Africa, and Google South Africa is displaying the adverts we specify.

We'd like to start targeting overseas (UK, USA, Euope) visitors. Can I please have your suggestions? All suggestions (as website crit most welcome!)

If you are having success with Geo-targeting, then apply the same rule with other areas.
Make landing pages specific to that areas for better conversion.

yes that's true, if you are getting benefit via Geo-targetting then apply same for other countries too. Also, if you don't want to use the same then you can get help by any of the good overseas SEO company. Also, in my personal opinion you should target the social networking sites by creating your game community as social sites are full of teens and young people that are interested in Games.

I suppose your site targeted visitors are of this age group.
So just target your SEO activities too.

Hi gazza777, we sometimes find ourselves in a similar situation as yours, since we do real estate and hotel websites in Costa Rica. Our audience is split between Costa Rica, the US, and Europe. So what we do with AdWords is set up different campaigns that geotarget specific areas and languages.

WRT organic SEO, we usually have 2 websites for the same company, one in Spanish with a local domain, and one in English with a .com or .net domain, so you can pin the local domain down to a specifc geographic area, and let the other one "float". The local one will take care of the local searches, as it won't rank so well outside of your country. The international domain will or should work for searches performed outside of your country.

Also, having a few telephone numbers with the appropriate area code will help you rank for that specific area keyword. Also, include maps and addresses with local province and district area names. I got this tip from someone here at WebProWorld some time ago, and it has worked for us as far as I can tell.

you need to focus on geotargeted elements: use English is the most cost effective process so focus on UK, USA first. Europe will come for those who speak English.
Now, if you are not budgeted, then, you take 20 major languages and you make a site per language (or a mini site per language. I hope this is helpful.
