I work out of the house using a normal dial-up connection.
There is a job that I am thinking about that would take me out of the country USA to a country Lindi-Tanzania-East Africa. Would more than likely be in the bush I don't have all the details yet.
With the right equipment would I be able to connect to servers to upload files via ftp the same as over my dial-up. This project must go on.
I assume that a satillite connection would be required cell phones may or may not work there.

    connection in lindi? Tanzania

    Hi

Look frorward to the trip to Tanzania, i have been there several times now, (about 10), hmmm
Lindi the only Lindi i know are in Kenya, but i will ask my friend tommorrow who are a tanzanian living in Arusha Tanzania.

I know there are several ways of connecting to the internet there. Some hotels far out in the bush uses VHF radio, others use satellite connection.
There are plenty of mobil conections even in the bush mountain and many other places.

Try to write me a direct mail and i will try to asnwer you directly after talking to my friend tommorrow Wednesday.

You can look at my site www.tanzania-info.com and se if ther eis some info you can use, i am updating the links for tanzania, so there would probably be several more who offers internet connections on friday.

    Sincerely

    Mads Jensen

I'm sure even in the bush you should get a line, I'd check first before investing in Sat links etc.[/list]

I stayed in some very remote parts of Tanzania last summer, on our honeymoon.

Even in the middle of the Serengeti - miles from anywhere - our hosts were able to get internet access. However, it was both incredibly slow and very expensive...
