Condolences to all who have written regarding the Google reshuffle. My site too, took a devastating hit from the updates a month ago. After finding scores of site owners worlwide similarly affected, and entrenched in the battle for revival, it is my opinion that this is more than an unfortunate side effect of Google's standard practice of updating their database.
The fact that across the board sweeping demotions to the ranking of specialised, niche sites has occurred generally in favour of global sites, even though they often have no relevant content, and always less relevant content, proves that the changes are algorithmic, with a greater ranking being given to larger sites. Page rank does not appear to be a determining factor, and the impact of the algorithmic tweak has been damaging not only to many small, specialised sites, but also to Google users, who are now provided with results offering little in terms of useful results.
Somjai is the first site owner I have encountered who has recovered from the reshuffle, which is hopefully a promising sign for the rest of us, rather than a glip in the system. If there is anyone else reading who has made a similar recovery, please share any ideas you may have about the route of the road to recovery.
