    Thumbs up Outlook

Does anyone PLEASE know the answer to this. I have ben told by Telefonica that I have nearly 1,500 emails on my list that do not exist anymore. They have all come back to outlook express one at a time. I need to get them out of my address book. It is easy to add new entries to address book but to get one off of it is a different thing it seems. Have sat here for nearly four hours now and have only got rid of about 250 of them. Any speedy ideas PLEASE. Not sure which version of outlook I am on but it is a recent one.

    Regards

Which operating system are you on? Windows Vista uses a different address book for Outlook Express than Windows XP.

    1. To your question. Can't you delete the whole folder(s) by right clicking? When I used Outlook some years ago that was done in seconds.
    2. I personally don't use Outlook, since it is insecure. Your emails potentially infected is stored on your hard drive.

    Re: Outlook

If I delete the whole folder then I lose all my contacts not only those that have to come off. I have for ages been using glock to sent out my newsletter but had to transfer back over to outlook as it was even harder getting them off of glock. Someone must have a littlle gadget or code to deal with outlook?? Or am I being to optimistic.

    1. Then I see one recent solution. Mark all (CTRL + A) and unmark those that you wan't to keep. Delete the marked that you don't want to keep.
    2. Be more focused / selective in your choice of folders in the future or use a better email service.
    3. Combine the outlook email service for your trusted clients with
    4. an other on line email service for new contacts (that can be automatically forwarded to outlook once they are cleared / white listed).

I've not tried it but I would look along the lines of exporting them all into a csv format and bringing them into excel.

Then if you do the same with your delete list into a different worksheet I'm sure there is an excel formula that can look up the email addresses in your delete sheet and automatically remove them from your addressbook sheet.

You can then save back into csv format and import back to outlook.

Kgun - I don't see why you think Outlook is insecure? If you have good antivirus installed and always update it and follow email best practices its no less secure than anything else out there.

Simply because the emails are stored on your hard disk.
