This is my first posting in this forum. I am these days just looking for the Page rank issues. My friend Barry and me were just talking about the Google Page Rank.

I think Webpronews Team and Matt can solve my problem. This is just about that Google Page Rank is float value. Can anyone tell me where the real page rank of a web page can be seen? Is there any tool ???

I have a scale to see the containing page rank 0 is not the value of same. It has some floating value.

But I cant measure it what's it actual value....

If you are looking at it via the google toolbar then you are seeing old data - just use the link I provided.

ctabuk, in the tools (Statistics / Crawl status) I can only see the distribution of the pages on four ranges: not yet assigned, low, medium, high ... not quite relevant.

are you referring to something else?

Webnauts always say's that he uses nothing else to assess his pagerank - and I didn't want the thread going down the greenline route (again!!) so it's best if he or she aquaints themselves with google tools - frankly, I ignore anything to do with pagerank as it means so little in terms of SERP

ctabuk and other members had replied me and not to much pleased for their acquittance. As per it known google page rank is a float value. A page of my website having a page rank 0 (zero). but when I take a screenshort with the help of print screen key appearing my page rank in firefox google toolbar and paste it into Mspaint (MS Office package) and "Zoomed in". I see that a green scale of page rank is below to Zero their.

But I am unable to measure and only can see it..

metaphor... Not sure what you mean by a "float" value. There is an internal value that Google uses, and there is what you see in the toolbar. The latter is literally meaningless.

What you see in the toolbar is not a ranking metric. It is not a metric that Google uses at all except for visual effect (at best). The value it displays means literally nothing. The number you see means literally nothing. With the exception of the people who look at it and place value on it and it's not Google.

Google has an internal value that calculated and recalculated on an ongoing basis all the time. This is the value that matters. You cannot see this value and there is no tool that available for you to measure it.

Furthermore, even if you did know the internal value, which is always less than one if the original premise holds true, it would be literally meaningless as you do not know precisely how it is used and precisely what it affects and how.

Wow, these screenshot/pr manipulations are remarkable, I must say. Sometimes I wish pagerank toolbars never existed, just to simplify things a bit and probably set people on a relevant track. The whole pagerank buzz is a huge confusion for newbies, who are very lucky if they finally bump into someone who really can tell heads from tails.

People get attracted towards visible things, in this case the GREEN. It is outdated stuff most of the time. I agree with ctabuk on pagerank against SERP.

Better to concentrate on your rankings than PR.
