No such thing unless you competitor wants to pull down his pants and let you look at his analytics.. But that's not very likely..

The best you can do is look over the pages that link to him to see where he is getting links.. But whether those links drive traffic or not is another issue entirely..

Re: Competitors' traffic sources - how to find out?

    Thnx a lot!
But I meant - maybe there is a service which let us see, for example, how many visitors came to the competitors' site from Google, how many of them came from Yahoo etc (approximately, of course) - search engines as a traffic sources...
Alexa doesn't show such a digits, but I'm sure it will be interesting not only for me...
    Thank you)

There is a professional Norwegian site CyberWatcher that can do competitor analysis.

    1. It is not free.
    2. May be not the type of analysis you are looking for.

If someone other than me were able to provide you "accurate" data on my website I'd probably sue them for hacking my server..

My understanding is that these services rely on data collected from opt-in users which is hardly precise because that group may or may not be representative of the target audience as a whole.

There is a simple effective way to find out.

Sit down at your desk and on a sheet of paper write down every place on and off the Internet where people might gather that will buy your product.

This should give you a comparable list of where your competitors traffic is coming from... (maybe even a better one)
