It is also advised to submit to many to High PR directories such as DMOZ and so on to increase your backlinks.
I tried my times to submit my site on DMOZ but not sucessfuly. Please help me.

who told you that ??? From Past 2 years Directories lost them worth not just in SE's eyes also in Regular user's Eyes, now a directories are just for webmasters and bloggers, i never get a huge amount of loyal visitors From Directories, in-fact i never get quality back link too from them . maybe dmoz and yahoo directories are good source of back link but not for traffic...
on topic: if you want to increase traffic of your website, you must have to do some SEO For your sites, You have to increase your Search engine Ranking first to increase your traffic, because there is just Search engines Are best and big source of traffic, beside search engine there is Social media networking/bookmarking Those can drive some traffic to your site, and after that there is Forum posting ( not spaming and forums must be related to your site/blogs niche) And blog commenting (use same method As Forum posting) And then there is article Submission, And directory submission ... But most important thing is that you have to have Some unique and user friendly content/resources on your site to attract visitors and also to attract webmasters ( because if you have these both quality things they (webmaster) love to link with your site
