I have seen about three comments in a week to the effect that, "I would post my URL but I'm afraid of getting banned" and I don't know where that idea is coming from. To clarify:
What IS acceptable?
1. If you are asking a question about something relative to your website, it is not only okay to post the URL - it is PREFERRED that you do so because it makes it easier for other members to have a look at the site and answer your question.
2. Similarly, if you are answering a question and you wish to point to a page on your own website as
an example of "how to do this" or "here's an example of how this technique was implemented", that is also perfectly acceptable.
What is NOT acceptable?
1. simply posting your URL and saying, "please come and have a look at my wonderful website and/or the services or products we offer" - because that isn't meant to help other members - it is simply spamming the forums.
