Lightbulb Things to avoid when hiring an SEO

I wrote a nice overview of things that some SEO companies tend to sell to you that will not bring in any good results and I consider them scam. (6 Things to Avoid When Hiring an SEO | Inchoo).

Is there anything I missed? Are there any other thing SEO companies tend to sell that don't actually bring in the results I missed?

    Hi Toni,

I always hear these -- "we have a special relationship with Google" or "we have connections within Google" or "we are working for google" or "we are Google approved"...

The big problem with SEO as a service is that there is no standard like with PPC.
Buying SEO services by price point alone is definitely in invitation for poor quality services, and even worse, can invite a penalty in Google.
This means that SEO cannot be bought and sold on price points alone - and why it is essential that companies looking for SEO services determine what they are actually looking for.
India has probably done more than any other country to position itself as the“SEO spam” capital, with a huge number of companies fighting to offer the cheapest service that delivers the smallest results.

Therefore, I cannot tell how much you will have to pay for your site if I do not review it to spot what is necessary to be done.
