Thread: Google's non responsive webmaster

    Google's non responsive webmaster

I have been having a problem with PR and have edited my website with all the advice I received from you guys here on the forum. I also created a new site that is a sister site to my original site. I used very little graphical content and expanded my text quite a bit. My PR on both sites is now zero. I have used a lot of link exchanges with only sites that are in my category and have a PR > 0. I've published several sites for clients since then that have already PR's of 2 and 3.

I have tried very hard not to spam but I think Google must think I do.

My site has been crawled by Googlebot several times in the past two months. Still no ranking.

In an effort to get some information, I e-mailed Google's webmaster and got this response:

Thank you for writing to Google.

We read all of the email we receive and try to send personal responses to
each message. This note is just to let you know that we've received your
letter, and that you'll hear from us soon.

    Thank you for using Google.

    Regards,
    The Google Team

I've now waited six days for their response.

I guess I'm just venting here because I am really frustrated with what's happening, or I should say what's not happening.

I would appreciate any input from you if you could take a look at my site and tell me where you think I am going wrong.

    My original site is http://www.spwwebwork.com.

I had page one results on two different keywords. That also has disappeared.

I am not quite sure what you are asking, but here goes:

    1) I can find NO links to either site. No links = no ranking.

    2) Both sites are in Google which means that there must be links to them, but as I can not find any via Google or AllTheWeb, there must not be many - you will never rank well without lots.

    3) This may only be an issue until Google updates the publcially available PR

    4) I would not expect Google to give any real response. Google is in the business of providing search results to seachers - its not in the business of providing services/advice to webmasters.

I would say Wait and See. The website is already in google. It is matter of time you will get PR number.

The issue is that at one time http://spwwebwork.com had a PR=3. Now PR=0.

The new site http://www.bowiewebdesign.com has been crawled several times by Googlebot and still no rating after two months.

You say you can find no links to either site. I entered into a link exchange with not many but at least 20 other websites with PR's >0. Since my PR went to nothing, link exchanges are not easisly come by anymore.

As to your #4. Google is in the business of providing advice to webmasters. At least they say they do. They received my e-mail and said a response would be forthcoming. That was 8 or 9 days ago. No response as yet.

I am waiting and not seeing. How long does one usually wait? Do you think that because the sites are related but not identical, that the Search Engines are in some way penalizing me?

I'm just very confused. I've developed sites after these for clients that already have PR's of 2.

    At Last a PR

I thank all of you for your advice and comments. I just finished posting a couple of replies and went to do a search and lo and behold my website http://www.bowiewebdesign.com all of a sudden showed up with a PR=3 on all 11 pages of the site.

I guess I was just too impatient.

Still haven't heard a response from Google yet, but now it doesn't matter anymore.

I can't tell you enough how I appreciate being able to join this forum and get such nice advice and help.

    Yet again PR is up

Wow, I just went to my original site http://www.spwwebwork.com and it has a pr=4 on the index page and pr=3 on all the rest.

All my fretting and worrying for nothing. But I sure learned a lot.

    Thanks again, guys.
