Personally, it will. Internet market is based on real economy. When more and more people lost job, it means less and less people buy things.

Well so far I found the opposite to be true.

The smarter money is moving online, in particular seo, email marketing and web design / re-design.

I have never been busier - and all new work post Oct08 crash.

has there been any changes with your sites performance during the economic crisis last year? I didn't really notice that much for some of my website, a few of them increased traffic... I mean, I guess people would rather do it online than to have to pay for gas, drive in the traffic and exhaust themselves walking trying to look for the right stuffs.

I havent seen any major differences.. other than we havent felt the full effects of it yet. Everything economy wise is still being held back..

but they cant hold back the tide forever no matter how many billions or trillions they pump into the ecomony. It will collapse compltly.. which will spell the end of the internet..

the crisis will make Google search better,twitter much stronger and more targeted advertising will be build for online marketing,the crisis now is filter who will show who is the best from the rest,better then citibank and news group

I agree with PerfectMoney, the dilemma is Information Overload and filter failure occurring online.

Internet is probably just the second stage of IT growth and internet economy is another aspect of the booming market. As people search for more avenues to make money, internet economy is set for further boom. People have been making money off the computer and internet, and will continue doing so, all you need to do is tap the right site.
