    How to get Google to display new page title and description?

    I recently changed the page title and description for a client to help boost their ranking. However when doing a Google search the newly posted information does not display. How can I fix this? I have resubmitted the site on Google's Webmaster Tools as the first step.

    I did have success with their prime keywords on the home page. Within 30 mintues of adding the keywords the site went from 16 (showing on the 2nd page) to 6 on the first page.

    On which page is it showing up now?

    It takes time for the new title and description to take hold. Since the page is already being crawled, you just have to wait.

    If the site is in DMOZ, use
    Code:
    <META NAME=”robots” CONTENT=”noodp”>

    Thumbs up Re: How to get Google to display new page title and description?

    After updating new title and description you need to wait for more than 30 to 45 days with that search engines crawl and stores.

    If you remove the Title and Description THEN write a blog post about the page Google goes crazy. It visits expecting to see the original page only to find an empty Title or Meta Description. It will then consider the meta keywords to be highly relevant and will go on to crawl the page - reassessing the content. That's probably how you moved positions so quickly.

    The real test of nerve comes to then including a Title and description that has nothing to do with the pages content.

    This really intrigues the Google spider and if you check your server logs you'll see a googlebot visit almost hourly. During this Googlebot Fest you can monkey around with the keywords and achieve dramatic results for almost anything.

    I've had the same issue during times when I made changes. It just took them a while to change my entries. It's funny because I would check out the Google webmasters account and wee that they crawled my site but then the description and title would still be the same. Finally there was a change after a while.

    Anchor texts !

    Your webmaster approach is best. The rest leave it on time. Keep link building for the terms in your title/targeted keywords. The DMOZ answer above is also important.

    Also simply modifying titles and descriptions are not the key to success! Keep link building for the terms and you shall get your desired results.

    Thank you,

    Interesting. What if the page in question is a blog post, or is on a site using a blogging platform. Or do you mean a blog post on a separate site.
