    Flash in SEO??

Does anyone have any suggestions for insuring that adding flash to my website will not hinder my SEO efforts?

Yes you can now seo your flash site . Search engines have the ability to read Flash files and extract text and links. Google and Adobe announced a new algorithm for indexing textual Flash content.

Google will parse the text and links out of flash. You still have a very good opportunity to hinder your search engine ranking benefits if you choose to encapsulate the entire website into one single flash page.

Some feel that 10 pages are better than 10 pages crammed into a single page. It really depends on what your end result is. To each their own.

search engines "have the ability" to read plain HTML sites too. most of them still rank very badly, which is what the flash site will also do.

"being able to read" - does not equal - "ranking well".

    Hi,

And, it would be better to make a limit of using flash on a page. You should use flash just to make your site more interactive and interesting.

Yes i am aware of that. As i said they have the ability to read but it's hard to get rank in top 1 or 2.

Search ranking is not based simply on the content of a site. Don''t get caught up into thinking SEO is a big part of your sites success. It is simply a small part of a well rounded and executed marketing plan.

I still find it amusing that many companies pay large amounts of money on seo that would be better spent making the site a closer. Stop fixating on accommodating the bots and concentrate on satifying the end user.
