Anyone know of a good Email List program/service?

We've had a few clients wanting to have the capability for people to add their name to an email list. I can do this easily I'm sure with WP plugins and feedburner maybe.... but if anyone knows of a better way that's free, any info MUCHO apprece!

I've used ListMessenger - Official Website in the past for mailing lists, there are free and paid versions.

Check out Email Marketing Software, Email Newsletters and Autoresponders by AWeber it isn't free, but it is well worth it and it isn't expensive.

I've been using SendBlaster lately and I love it. The free version only lets you send out to a list of max. 100 email addresses and only two lists but the free version is really cheap. Controls bounce-backs and un-subscribes as well...

    Hi Fctoma-

You can check out phplist if you want something that can be installed on your web server.

    Hope that helps,
    Darren

Re: Anyone know of a good Email List program/service?

    Hi fctoma,

There are loads of email list management systems out there.

I would recommend that you use a list management service
that is hosted online by a dedicated email service. Rather than
a system that is based upon an add-on to a crm or software
system installed on your computer or server.

    Why?

One aspect of running a viable list is the relationship it has with
    SPAM blockers and ISP's.

Maintaining a good relationship with these guys can be a full-time
job, something the likes of you and me would find difficult to do.

And CRM plugins, software download systems and many server
systems also have problems with this.

Most dedicated online email systems provide a free entry level
package, then offer paid for plans.

I have worked with iContact for many years. Even their paid
for service is very cheap, and they offer more options than
competitors like Constant Contact and so on.

Essentially you would be buying part of a system that is completely
built from the ground up, for nothing except email marketing.

    Regards,

    Robert
