The 1st record you ever bought

I've been at WPW a few months now, and thought it was about time I asked

"what is the first record you ever bought?"

or CD, if you're young. Must be the 1st you bought, rather than bought for you.

    And question #2;

"What is the WORST record (or CD) you've bought?"

    and why?

Come on, don't be shy, spill the beans. ;-D

First (ever) single - Sick Man Blues - The Goodies
Second - Turn it Down - The Sweet
First Album - Top of the Pops Complilation

    And, I still have them!

Well, if that doesn't date me, nothing will.

Nice to know people still keep hold of their old records, and those ToTP compilations are wicked, esp. the covers!

The TOTP compilation, not that I was in any way influenced, had blue cover and Babe in a 'not too large' bathing suit.

The worst CD ever bought - Terence Trent D'arby, Symphony or Damned. He got it half right anyway.

First? 'Pinball Wizard, The Who' a 45(!)(Traded it for 'Cinnamon Girl, Neil Young' to my babysitter...sigh...older women...sigh..LOL)

I might have owned the 'Archies - Sugar, Sugar" before that.

    Worst? Abba? KISS? Hmmm..

    Best! Rush 2112.

Babies don't need a vacation, but I still see them at the beach... it pisses me off! I'll go over to a little baby and say 'What are you doing here? You haven't worked a day in your life!'

    First 45 rpms:
    Elvis - Hound Dog
The Chipmunks - Chipmunk's Christmas Song

    First Album:
    Elvis - King Creole

    Worst album:
Too many "Bottom 40" examples to list...

    Best album:
Hard to narrow down - Dylan's Blonde on Blonde would have to be in there but it would definitely have company... Led Zep IV, Cream Disraeli Gears, Live's first album, Neil Young's After The Gold Rush, Fleetwood Mac Rumours... I have at least a couple of rooms full of CDs and LPs so there are a lot to choose from, and this doesn't even include the classical albums - Herbert von Karajan's 60s recordings of the Beethoven Symphonies, Sibelius' Swan of Tuolena, etc...

Yikes this shows I'm older than Pete...

1st single - Benny Hill - Ernie (he drove the fastest milkcart in the west)

(Funily enough my second one was also by Sweet but was Blockbuster)

1st album I bought (as opposed to had bought for me) was: OMG I just realised it was Rolf Harris (Someone shoot me now)

Worst Album ummm (Several I probably played once) make that most dissapointing album = ELO - Discovery.

First tape I bought for myself was New Kids on the Block.:-P
at about the same time, I dubbed/copied my sister's Meatloaf Bat out of Hell and my brother's Def Leperd(sp?) Hysteria.

    I still am very eclectic!

I'd have say that my favorite compilations would be:
    Pink Floyd's The Wall,
    anything by the Eagles
    to name a few!!
