how to unblock torrent and p2p..??

I am connected to university lan. It has blocked sharing so that torrents and p2p sharing does not work. Please suggest how can I unblock these and gain access to p2p sharing..???

You will have to go through a proxy to connect to those types of networks and websites.

Proxy may help you on that problem. But make sure to erase all of the information of that site because it may cause you trouble on visiting proxy sites. Just clear up the cookies after using it.

I dont think using a proxy will do because ive got the same problem and i am using a proxy to connect to the uni network, if i dont use the proxy i cant connect to the network. Any ideas on that?

You would need to set up a proxy that changes the ports that these services use. Simply setting up a proxy won't alter the ports, there are additional steps you have to take to manipulate the ports that you are sending traffic over - exactly how you do this will depend on the file sharing software you are using.

The only way is to use a proxy, or contact IT dept. and give them a line of BS.....you never know!
