google suggest for tool bar users only? why?

Another google gripe! Why doesnt google suggest work on the main search box and only on the the tool bar search?

All the other SEs have this feature as part of their main search.

I think they still consider it an experimental feature. You can of course search Google.com with Suggest enabled by searching from Google

Aaaah! Thanks for the explanation. As a UK SEO, who rarely deals with g.com, i have only ever seen google suggest on the tool bar. I use it all the time to speed up search but it always puzzled me as to why they dont put it on the main search box. Everyone else does (on UK versions).

Google seem to keep new features in beta for ages!

And it is a great and fast spelling tool for non English speaking people like me. Some times the ordinary search box is good enough.

I always use the toolbar, so I never even noticed it wasn't part of the main search.

My gripe with the toolbar suggest is the fact that I can't turn OFF the mature filter.

I call it a mature filter, because when I type in anything that could be remotely considered adult it is ignore. Sorry, I meant to say that I couldn't find a setting to turn it off.
