In case you have not read my previous thread on this topic, I'll give you a brief summary:

About 2 months ago, I installed SP4 on my main server. The install would not compete and it left me with a system that performed strange things, especially when dealing with asp & php database websites. After about 2 weeks, my system then completely crashed and was unrecoverable.

I then reformated and reinstalled w2k followed straight away by SP4 - I still have the same strange problems as previous but I now cannot view certain asp website's at all. e.g. the BBC website ( www.bbc.co.uk ) cannot be viewed at all by any PC on my network. All I get is 'server unavailable' error, this includes trying to view the site via Linux on my laptop (everything runs through a proxy server on the w2k system).

I now have to get rid of SP4 and install SP3 (which worked great for about 8 months prier to installing SP4) - Has anyone else had problems with SP4?

Microsoft have informed me that this is a unique problem to my system but from browsing various forums, it appears the majority of people are having the same problem. I friend of mine that builds and sells PC's, has had 90% of units with w2k & SP4 installed returned with the same problem, unable to view certain website's correctly.

What are Microsoft up to....?
