    Gmail and Opera.

For security reasons I use Gmail with Opera. It has functioned well so long, but now I can only use the classic view that is far from as good as the new version.

    Any explanation and help.

    Re: Gmail and Opera.

To be more precise, I have the following problem when I use Gmail with Opera.

First it seems that Gmail has changed to a Flash solution.

When I sign in, an indicator that loads the software start running fast and stop on about 95 % and hang there. Then I have to change to a mini verision that is far from as good as the standard version. Example, I can not delete all spam emails with a click. I have to check one and one and delete.

My experience as a webmaster (has surfed the web since its beginning) as I thought (one reason I use more than one browser, more than one free Email system and more than one hoster) is:
    1. Don't rely on free / cheap solutions. Lycos / Spary Chat where I was member of a large community has stopped.
    2. Now I have the above problem with Gmail and Facebook is more down than up. If Gmail is not compatible with Opera (it can be my error or my computer is infected), I will degrade the use.
    3. Don't sign up with any software or social community that requires you to log into your email account as part of the registration.
    Conclusion:
(My test periode of 4 years ends 31. december 2008 ). Don't invest too much of your time in these solutions. If you are a webmaster build your own solutions if you have time and can do it yourself and use a hoster you can rely on. Some of my experiences are summarized here:

This post should be made a sticky, but ...

    Re: Gmail and Opera.

    Still no answer.

To your information I have Cookies and JavaScript enabled. I also deleted all private data including passwords.

Now I have come a step further and have loaded a help page that asks about
    1. Installed applications.
    2. Extensions.
    3. Which browser do you use?
      - FireFox?
      - Internet Explorer
      - Safari
      - None of the above. My choice here.
Answer. We're sorry, but other browsers are not fully supported by Gmail, and may not work properly with all Gmail features and functions.

If you use a browser other than those listed above, you'll be automatically directed to the basic HTML view of Gmail. Basic HTML view works with the following browsers, as well as many others:
    IE 4.0+
    Netscape 4.07+
    Opera 6.03+
Regardless of your browser type, you must have cookies enabled to use Gmail. If your browser supports it, please also enable JavaScript.

We suggest using Interne Explorer 6+, Mozilla Firefox 1.0+ or Safari 3.0+ for the best experience.

This is a security issue Google. Read carefully here

    if you see this post.

Sorry Google, but I will degrade my use of Gmail, since I personally regard Opera as the most secure browser on earth.
