Will Onsite Search Engine Optimization (SEO) be History?

The most controversial prophecy in my article in Marketing Pilgrim, titling 13 Prophecies of Internet Marketing is the 1st prophecy saying, "Onsite Search Engine Optimization (SEO) will be history". This has created controversy in other blogs in in the blogosphere.

But, my view behind the topic is search engines rather than forcing the websites to become search engine friendly will prefer to be more inter-technology friendly. And search engines will not degrade any site if it is developed in as Flash, Java, PHP, HTML, or Web 2.0 site.

I also have mentioned Visual Algorithm that will analyze the appearance of the page combining the OCR technology & artificial intelligence. If it is implemented, then Appearance of a site will be the determinant for visible keyword density than code-based texts. That will change the task of Markup SEO we know today.

One of the prophecies I missed in the article is the marriage of the Internet with the Broadcasting Media or Television. The definition of web content already changed. Images, audios, flash slides, and videos are also are web contents now. When people will prefer videos than text-based contents, marketers will forget how our ancestors did SEO on text-based contents.

I'd like to hear your view.

With Google TV about two years away - I beat you to that prediction. LOL TV and internet on one handset control. I wrote that here about 2 years ago.

Watch out. I have noticed that a lot of quality portals and SE's pop up in Uk. Like Google they have understood that silence is golden.

    Here are two examples:
    1. Business directory & business search : Company details finder : UK business guide : UK business finder
    2. fish4 - new & used cars - job search UK - property for sale & lettings
There are a lot of other SE; portals and directories.

    Very similar

On-site search engine optimization is not dead yet, but I am sure very soon.
