Re: What am I doing wrong no sales

It's unclear what the product is, or why anybody should buy. The layout is a little distracting, and navigation design could be improved.

Nothing hiring a designer and a copywriter couldn't fix.

In constrast, study this RC Helicopter site. Clear layout. Clear copy. Clear proposition. You instantly know what the product is and what the objective is - a sale. Everything required for the site visitor to learn about the product and make the purchase decision is on the one page.

It's hard to tell you have anything for sale. And the way you've made it difficult to pay you is an obvious problem. You want a clear, simple, button "Purchase" or "Add to Cart"

Most people want to be up and running five minutes after signing for the package. You've got an uphill struggle with build-it-yourself. You've got to show 1) It's easy - for example show one of the kids built one 2) You can actually teach anyone, and testimonials show that beautifully. A key part of the product is that you are a good teacher anyone can learn from. If your reader can't even figure out what the site's about, they figure you aren't a clear communicator and so the instructions will end up being a door stop.

You could do well do study the site. It's the crib notes for the dozens of marketing, copy, and design problems which would fill up a dozen paragraphs to begin to explain. You have put numerous obstacles to purchase on the site. People do what's quick and simple -- grease the skids.

I see what you mean now. I used to get sales when I only sold one product. Now that I have 2 e -books I changed the layout. Im working on it.

I like how your now using e-books. The key to internet marketing is find methods that work and stick to them, whether they be youtube videos, articles, solo ads, google adwords, etc. To find a successful method, you have to keep trying new things and always TRACK your results with a good adtracking system. If one method is performing well, keep it. If another strategy is not performing well, toss it. The key is to keep trying new things and keep your marketing strategy fresh.

If you put solid work into your business on a consistent basis, results will come. Learn to delay gratification and you will be successful.

    Good Luck to you!

Re: What am I doing wrong no sales

The biggest overall issue lies in the visual design, page layout and navigation system. The site gives users the impression that you're running it out of your basement and that it's your first attempt at running a website. While this may in be the case, it's not the message you want to convey.

In addition, PayPal "Buy Now" buttons don't make the grade in terms of professionalism, nor does the "Visitor #" page counter. At present, you're suffering from a complete lack of trust, confidence and credibility as far as online stores (ecommerce sites) go.

With only 2 products for sale, your ability to attract new customers is severely handicapped. You're running a niche site where your users will most likely want a "one stop shop" where they can find just about anything and everything they're likely to require in pursuit of their hobby. The likelyhood of your site gaining any sustainable traffic is extremely limited because you've got such a small amount of content and because your product offerings are so narrow.

Were I you, I'd find a supplier(s) who can provide an assortment of tools, plans, supplies, books, guides, glue, paper, decals, RC controls, engines, ready-made kits and so forth. This would allow you to expand your product offerings and attract a wider client base.

You'd do well to consider providing users with detailed guides on RC and glider flying and a link resource where users can find related information. Perhaps even a forum where you can establish a community of loyal users.

As has already been suggested, take a look at your competitors sites to do some market evaluation. See if you can't source the same products, or better quality products, at a reasonable price. With the knowledge you already posess, shop their sites and make notes on how things are presented. Go through an entire purchase and actually buy something. This will allow you to evaluate their processes for yourself.

Once you've assembled an inventory of items you can sell, implement an actual shopping cart and set up a payment gateway that will allow you to run with the "big boys".

At present, you've got nothing to lose and there are plenty of easy to implement free shopping carts available that will work on any server with just about any type of database.

Don't worry too much about improving what you've got, your efforts would be much better spent in a complete redesign with an integrated shopping cart.

None lately. A long time ago I had more sales. The type of product matters alot also you can see that by the bids on ebay one vs another.

"I have good rank and u tube videos etc."

Hi there, I am new to the forum and read your post with interest. Your site is slightly confusing which might be the reason why you are not getting a lot of sales. If you have a good rank and some you tube videos you might be best putting together a blog.

Blog templates can be eye catching and can be easily customized to suit your site.

If you are passionate about the subject of your site you can update it regularly and easily, blogs are fairly simple to monetize with adsense, clickbank and other pay per click adverts.

If you have some u tube videos you can easily embed the videos into your blog updates and it is also possible to add in your paypal payment buttons for things you want to sell.

If you want I could put a blog up on a site with your theme and let you see how it looks. If you like the look of it I can show you how to put together a blog and how to update it easily. If you are not confident about setting up a blog let me know and I will look at the possibility of setting one up for you for free.

    Hope this helpd a little

    Fellow Glider Pilots,
Did you know that .......... etc. etc. etc.
If you´re selling something, don't make it look like a seminar. Just put your product on the home page and show what you´re selling.

Sure the site doesn't look very professional and it may help to get more sales from improving it's professionalism, but you´re not a professional store. Non of your fellow glider pilots is going to hold that against you. But in stead of complaining a lot in the beginning, just show what the obtainable results are,... right a way.

Only after that, show why you know what you´re talking about. (this is where you gain your credibility.) And if you have any kind of prices to your name, put them up there as well.

Keep things shorter. Nobody wants to read so much (unorganized) information.

Ah and one thing you really need to get rid of,.... all the pages opening in new windows.
