Innovetive ideas for marketing

If you have any innovative ideas to market the product, which you have heard of or tried, please share here. I work in connected marketing team, I usually surf net to find out different ways to tap the market.

One example I can think of right now is Pay per post. It is quite good.

Last night I came across something, pay per digg/stumble. I have seen people paying $0.10-$0.25 per digg. With the optimal goal of getting on the home page as there are many studies that show the amount of traffic from being on the home page and all of the new links that it would generate to your website.

Craigslist, Myspace, Backpage. We get a ton of business off of these sites.

Direct marketing (postal mail)
Phone books
Late-night TV commercials are cheap
Print your logo on cool pens and give them out.
Print your logo on other cool stuff and give them out (baseball caps, post-its, can openers, corkscrews, frisbees, etc.).
"A"-frame boards on a person walking down a sidewalk
Car wraps
Sign in your own car window
Give out bumper stickers with great sayings and graphics and your logo, of course.

Allow customers to post videos of themsleves using your product (great for surf boards, snowboards, skate boards, etc.).

Contests - "Name the widget", "best slogan", etc.
Giveaways, BOGO (buy one get one free).

Remember the Blair Witch Project? That was a great marketing scheme!

I'm not sure pay per post is a good way to go. Google seems to be going after these guys.

Essentially pay per digg means that you will pay people $0.25 when they digg your website. I saw this in the freebies service area at the digitalpoint forums.
