Link Building Idea - Get Inbound Link & Help Others

If someone has mentioned this idea before, I appologize.

I'm sure some of you have heard of Kiva.org - Loans that change lives well, if you 'micro loan' as little as $25 to help a persons small business in a less fortunate country, in your profile you can include a link back to your web site.

What better way could there be to get a link, than getting it by helping others improve their lives.

Here are a couple of examples of people seeking loans

Agabadji wants to buy another cow
Kiva.org - Agabadji Akhmadova

Tania wants more inventory for her store
Kiva.org - Tania Villarreal

Hi MJ,

No offense, but "Link Exchange" is a terrible place for this post.

IMO it's more a "Marketing Strategies" topic since you aren't exchanging anything.

What your doing is loaning a small business owner(s) a little bit of money to try to better themselves. A fringe benefit is that you can tell a little about yourself/business and get a link to your web site.

Another benefit is that fellow lenders and Kiva site visitors will check out your profile and visit your site.

I am kind of suprised at the lack of response here.

Is this a dumb idea or what? If it is, tell me what I have overlooked, please.

Everyone seems to want inbound links, why not do a good thing, make a $25 donation (loan), and get a direct inbound link to your site from a pr6 web site in return?

As a side note, I have also started a Kiva Team at my web site we have already made one loan, and we have funds donated for a second but havent selected the recepient yet. For a $5 donation that goes to Kiva you can join our team.

Nice idea for who spending money for marketing. For buying links from PR5+ sits hast pay 50-100$ . so like this small finance is good and will be a service and get benefit from it. I appreciate this idea and will try to follow it
