A link page & Why is there no foum search feature??!!

Saw Hulks posts, but i see no search feature on this site. It would be very helpfull. Im trying to find a feature on:

Why link directories on your site are not a good idea. (MY seo guy tells mne they are, but this seems so spammy and leaky to me)

I thought this was an abonded old school technique....do you guys recomend a link page on all sites. And if so how can this collection outbound links help? The page isdesitedn for low PR and possible violations.

but I have found it to be less than productive. I prefer to Google

well if there is it is no where near where it should be...

it seems silly ot use Google to search for a thread....thats what forum search engines are for.

Does anyone know what happened to the forums at webpronews? I know theirs used to have a decetn search feature.

This is the forum connected to WebProNews ... and while it may seem silly, it's still the best way to search this forum; it's quick and far more effective than using the forum search.

The Search feature is right on the bar across the menu bar in the top half of the screen, two buttons to the left of Logout ...

Ahh i found it....missed it on the menu bar (not a UC location btw), as most have an open field sith "search forums" button. This was a part of the swithc from PHP BB i guess.

Any advice on the linking page? Specifically wondering if they are still used, as i am being advised to use them, but i am cautious....seems like building a mini link farm on our sites.
