    Playing the Google Game

I bet they're behind their desks in Mountain View, all giggling -'What a wheeze - tell everyone to put a video on their sites and call it Universal Search and the silly sods will fall for it'.

Well many did - not I but I did think about it.

Now the rumour is that they have been using the toolbar to spot 'paid for links' dead easy if you think about it -we all use Pay Pal and Google knows where and what we buy.
    Buying from Directories appears fine.

But Universal Search is apparantly dead - my source?

I wonder if Google pays someone to start rumours?

    Well - I'm only guessing

I doubt they would use the TB for that. It certainly goes against their privacy statement as far as I can tell.

Quoting "...We do not associate this data with personally identifying information about you..."

Using that sort of data would certainly go against the "don't be evil" mantra!

Makes you think though what power they could use with all the information they have... scary stuff!

US media are extremely open. I think more open than Norwegian.
    1. What do they know about you and your habits? How can the information be used?
    2. Haven't you watched Cnn? Google earth showing pictures with a resolution of 2 m's (for civil purposes).

So there are definitely good and bad use. Google has an agenda of not being evil.

It is up to your imagination to figure out the possibilities.
