A lot of times when I have seen this it has been caused by a faulty peripheral device, typically a USB device that is sending too much current to the motherboard. I would first try disconnecting all unnecessary peripheral devices except the monitor, mouse and keyboard and reboot. If the error message persists, it may be a loose connection or a fault in something on the motherboard, even a bad driver, but first things first.

Had encountered before and my cause for it is either the power supply does not supply enough power or the software corrupted.
I normally use a used harddisk to install just the O/S to test and see if it happens. If it does, then likely the power supply.
Hope this helps.
