Keywords on meta tags

I hope I am posting this question on the right place if not please feel free to move it.

What is the maximum keywords you can place on your meta tag? The reason I ask is because ebay doesn’t have to many but I fund other websites that have a lot!

It dosen't matter - they count for zero in search engines.

It is not true that they count for zero in ALL search engines. I'm not even certain they count for zero in the major ones but I'm aware that most people believe this to be true.

However, as for the question of how many you can use, I'm not sure there is an absolute number - as with most things, just choose some major phrases that are relevant to the page and don't go overboard.

So far as I know there is no hard adn fast rule on this, but I always limit the number of phrases in the keywords tag to the actual phrases targeted for that page and no more. I seldom target more than 3 phrases per page.
