Question Google Pay Per Click specialist

I work for a small website dev company in California and we have a new client who manages their own Google PPC campaigns, that is they did until some recent changes in the program that has caused them to see some significant changes in their paid rankings and their costs. We pretty much only deal with basic organic SEO and have very little experience on the PPC side (enough to know what we don't know!) and are looking to bring in someone to assist our client with their campaign.

This isn't a solicitation for help, my question is how to pick a person/company to to help them out. How do I tell who is actually qualified and who is trying to blow smoke up my @#$? We are working on redesigning the website (adding more content and improving navigational structure) and don't want to bring in a person/company that will A) Not be able to help the client with his issues. B) make us look bad C) Steal the client.

    thx

How do I tell who is actually qualified
Google Adwords does have a Professional Program, which basically means that an individual or a company have passed Google's requirements and Google's exam. You can start by looking for a qualified professional, but it won't serve as a guarantee on the service or cooperation that you may end up with. Do your research, as you would buying any new product.

Look here, Google Adwords - Advertising Professionals and Companies whoisaGAP or if they already have the logo placed on their website.

    Hope that helps,

It isn't a free plug -- although I make no apology for it -- but haven't you heard of Perry Marshall?
He isn't the only Adword guru, but for my money, he certainly knows whereof he speaks.
And, without doubt, my own success with PPC stems from all that I've learned from him (for the princely sum of $49.95).

You might also want to consider former Google employee Simon Leung, he seems to really be creating a following with is adwordsgiveaway and adwordslistbuilding sites.

I heard a teleseminar he was on and was very impressed and no I am not an affiliate of his.
