Up to now, everything we've put in the ground has been killed by frost. We have another puppy who is very active, and to see them (the dogs) run around the yard, don't think anything will survive their power runs. So, sadly, my Russian sunflower seeds are still in the package. it's been a disappointing spring for growing things, this year, at least down in the valley. I was so looking forward to having another crop, even if was just for the birds and bees. Last years plants were destroyed early in the fall, when they were just maturing, and after that we had three weeks of heat wave. Don't know if I could handle the emotion of another loss like that one.Originally Posted by alphaomega

Broke 30 degrees celcius a few time this year(= way too hot with high humidity)! Kinda grateful, don't live in the big city, can't imagine the smog!

Hot one week with threat of rain at the end of most days. Cool the next week. Hot the following week with threat of rain pretty much every day. Cool the next week. Until the summer weather patters begin to stick, it seem we get a lot of upper level "low" pressure which causes instability and it just circles anticlockwise as the weather mass slowly moves to the east.
Grass and plants love this weather.
