I know the reviews are usually on finished logos, but with the energy I've got I don't want to waste it on a logo that would not work.

obviously I'm not a professional logo or web designer and I know I'm just a small unprofessional site on a huge professional web without alot of money to work with since I'm on disability. I knew the logo doodle wasn't great, but I didn't think it was something to be laughed at. I was just hoping for a little constructive advice/criticism/suggestions.

I understand not being a pro and being bit tight on cash. It's not uncommon though for even pro designers to start off with a doodle or sketch.
You really need to remember that a logo is all about branding and a distinction of who you and your business is. Since you have "hands" in your company name, then I kind'a expect to see hands in the logo. I'm not sure if the heart quite does it.
What about a pair of hands holding a gift?

Designers usually start with a sketch and this is not the worst sketch I've seenGood for a non-designer.
I think heart is a good symbol for a gift shop, it is easily identifiable and has strong positive meaning.
I think it would be good to use warm and bright colors in this logo.
Good luck!
Best regards,
Vitaly.
Vitaly,
Thank you! Just as I was about to give up on heart designs, you give me hope
now to decide if I want to go with hands because of the name or stick with the heart I doodled & submitted.
Good for a non-designer, huh :P~ I'll take that as I hope it was intended and say Thank You!

I know it's been awhile since I originally posted this, but I had a logo drawn up for me and wanted to update this post. The logo can be seen on my website Loving Hands Boutique
